Jayson Chang
Chair (2022-2024)

​Hailing from the San Gabriel Valley (626), Jayson Chang is 7th-year educator. A former EMEID (Ethnic Minority Early Identification Development Program) participant, 18-19 Cohort, Jayson is active at all levels of CTA, such as, but not limited to, Human Rights Cadre trainer, co-chair of the CTA Racial Equity Affairs Committee (REAC), and sits on the Budget Committee at CTA State Council. He is a frequent workshop presenter on pedagogy and thematic history teaching. Outside of the classroom, he is the Professional Development Manager for The Asian American Education Project, delivering trainings on K-12 AAPI curriculum to educators across the country. If not in the classroom or meetings, you'll probably find Jayson in the kitchen, cooking something up or on the coast with a bucket, foraging for dinner.

Alma Galapon

​A 15-year teacher veteran, Alma Galapon serves in a variety of roles at all levels. She is a site rep and on the Equity Committee at her local. A former EMEID participant, 20-21 Cohort, she is currently a Human Rights Cadre trainer, a CTA REAC member, and sits on the Professional Rights & Responsibitilies at CTA State Council. She once received an Institute for Teaching (IFT) grant to teach 4th graders about Filipino-American farm laborer and labor activist, Larry Itliong. She has been married for 22 years with 3 kids. If there's a teacher who's cosplaying, it's always going to be Alma. Once a walker of half marathons, she is now exclusively a Netflix marathoner.

Christina "Cheena" Chun Moslen

She/Her/Hers
Cheena is a high school English and theatre teacher from Miwok and Nisenan territories otherwise  known as Elk Grove. This year, she enters a new role in her district as an Instruction and Curriculum Coach in the Educational Equity Department. In addition to being PAAC Secretary, Cheena is a site rep and equity team member in her local
, EMEID Alum (℅ 22!), and  an LGBTQ+ Caucus member. Cheena considers herself to be relatively new to union leadership; nonetheless, she has always found joy in community organizing, and she is ready for this new challenge. She is looking forward to connecting with folks who also strive to uplift and embolden Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian communities. Cheena’s teaching philosophy: “I draw my energy to teach from the unceasing belief that everyone deserves to be nurtured and to have their needs met; those needs vary and shift, and it is the job of each individual to meet people where they are at each moment. I am a student of anti-racist teaching, and I strive to challenge existing power structures within curriculum and education.”

​She/Her/Hers

A Cali girl at heart, but born in the beautiful islands of the Philippines.  Currently residing in Sacramento, Anna teaches kindergarten in North Highlands. As a proud member of the Twin Rivers United Educators, she is serving as a site rep and PAC Chair. Within CTA, she is a member of the Capitol Service Center, CTA Region 2, and EMEID participant, 21-22 Cohort. Anna's passion is seeing that the field of education creates pathways for recruiting and retaining BIPOC educators so we better reflect the communities we collaborate with and serve in.​
